The Human Resource Generalist provides the full range of day-to-day Human Resource support. The HR Generalist works within the full scope of generalist activity: talent acquisition, training & development, employee relations, performance management, benefit & leave administration, regulatory & legal compliance, and policy administration. Key attributes are a high level of professionalism including the ability to clearly communicate with tact and diplomacy, act ethically and with integrity, and the ability to work with information of a sensitive nature, requiring strict confidentiality. The Human Resources Generalist is a business partner, a trusted outlet and resource to employees, and is passionate about continually maturing processes and improving the employee experience.
- Ensure that HR files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- Manage the recruitment process to include interviewing, assessing candidates, background screening and reference checks.
- Process new hire paperwork and facilitate new hire orientation.
- Communicate the Company’s benefits programs in regard to plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements.
- Interpret policies and procedures and provide policy guidance in a consistent manner to managers and employees.
- Review performance appraisals and corrective/disciplinary actions ensuring consistency in administration.
- Effectively handle and resolve employee relation issue and performance issues.
- Comply with HR regulation legal mandates such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII.
- Maintain Affirmative Action Program, records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Represent the Company at unemployment and workers’ compensation hearings.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years Human Resources related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Outlook; ability to learn new software as needed.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
