We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Furniture Delivery Laborer to join our team. This role involves delivering furniture to customers, ensuring safe handling, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery, warehouse operations, or moving services, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Duties
- Load and unload furniture items from delivery trucks, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary
- Safely move furniture into customers’ homes or businesses, ensuring items are protected from damage during transit and setup
- Operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles with manual transmission, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist with route driving, following scheduled delivery routes efficiently and accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with clients during deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and equipment
- Assist in warehouse operations including inventory management, loading, and storage when not on delivery routes
- Follow safety protocols for heavy lifting, moving, and operating equipment like forklifts
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services, especially with box trucks or similar vehicles
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Warehouse experience including the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to moving furniture safely and efficiently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles with manual transmission is preferred
- Knowledge of route driving and navigation skills for efficient deliveries
- Prior experience with heavy lifting, moving furniture, or working in a warehouse environment is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
