Job Summary:
Coordinate production (fermentation, granulation, packaging, etc.) planning based on forecast and sales projections. Responsibilities include assisting stakeholders with the master production schedule (MPS), rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) and material management at the company’s site in Wasco, CA. The planner will also ensure development and optimization of effective supply planning processes which utilize the company’s ERP system (Netsuite), ensuring good communication methods are in place to update key stakeholders. The role will play a key part in the development and management of the S&OP process, which requires collaboration and analysis of relevant supply planning information and recommendations for effective decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage 12 months rolling master production schedule ensuring comprehensive compliance with manufacturing material requirement incorporating forecasts, backlogs, open orders and capacity constraints. Create annual production plan for budgetary purposes.
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders and functions to ensure production plan represents consensus view of all factors.
  • Develop consistent, effective supply related reporting and KPIs to highlight issues and drive actions
  • Develop balanced plant optimization schedules to ensure customer demands and factory utilization targets are achieved
  • Develop RCCP plans to analyze and negotiate resource requirements
  • Develop plan to have a level of flexibility to allow for shifting priorities within defined time periods (frozen, slushy, liquid).
  • Resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
  • Calculate and manage safety stock parameters periodically to be in line with the reaction time of the market during periods of spike or dip in demand
  • Drive continuous improvement of material flow processes in support of procurement and manufacturing goals.
  • Own the plant data objects from a coordination perspective, which influence the planning and procurement of materials (planner/buyer SOP, lot sizing, safety stock, procurement parameters, etc.) ensuring the optimum management of inventory.
  • Identify warehouse and logistics challenges and opportunities, leading projects to eliminate non-value-added waste and drive improved performance.
  • Develop, manage, and archive SOP for all supply planning activities (ISO 9001)
  • Support business-wide initiatives, communications, and improvement projects as a core member of the supply chain team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations/Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5 or more years’ progressive production planning experience
  • Fundamental understanding of supply chain, planning, and procurement processes within a manufacturing organization
  • ERP system experience
  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years in a solid manufacturing environment with an emphasis in supply/production planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP Designation
  • NetSuite proficiency
  • Planning experience in a global manufacturing or biotech organization
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office setting
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Finger dexterity to support keyboard tasks
  • Occasional time spent outside in a warehouse environment
