Position Title: Civil Engineer
Reports To: Assistant Vice President

Location: Long Island City Office – 75% travel to project site location Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY.
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Civil Engineer is responsible for providing inspection services for an MTA Roof Repair Coney Island Overhaul Shop Project.
The scope of work consists of the following:
- repairing, replacing, and rebuilding the existing roofs at the Coney Island Overhaul Shop (the “Shop”) to bring the roofs to a State of Good Repair.
- replacing the outdated heating units in the Shop to improve the existing structural condition and extend the lifetime of the Shop exteriors.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection services for roof repairs
- Ensure full-time monitoring of all construction activities to guarantee compliance with project specifications
- Conduct continuous technical inspections to confirm that quality measures are implemented daily
- Prepare daily field technical reports and computations; collect and document initial, progress,
and final photographs - Conduct substantial and final inspections alongside the supervisor and designated personnel
- Verify contractor adherence to contract requirements, quality control standards, and safety protocols
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Civil)
- NYCT track safety training
- NYCT PMG 123
- OSHA 30-hour
- 4-hour scaffolding user
Preferred Certifications
- SST 62 hours is preferred
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Perform additional project control related duties as required.
