Occupational Health Physician

Provide Occupational Health Physician and Program Manager services at the OPM facility located at 1900 E. Street NW, Washington DC 20415. The OHP will spend 8 hours a week on Center, and no more than one (1) day per week.

Physician & Program Management Support:

The OHP's responsibilities during the hours on Center will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting medical examinations, for pre-employment, medical surveillance, fitness for duty, termination examinations, and overseas deployments
  • As part of every medical examination the Contractor will conduct as a minimum:
  • A review of the individual's work history.
  • A review of the relationship, if any, between the individual's health and his/her work environment.
  • A review of the relationship, if any between the individual's physical condition and his or her job demands.
  • A vision screening, performed on each eye individually, and both eyes together, (while the individual is wearing safety glasses, if applicable) including near and far visual acuity, near and far phoria, color blindness, and depth perception.
  • Reviewing charts to include assessments of medical examinations
  • Provide immunizations and/or titers for individuals who are assigned duties at the Child Development Center
  • Reviewing accommodations requests (requests of specialized ergonomic equipment or other devises not normally provided without supporting medical documentation)
  • Participating in the Fire Services Branch Health and Safety Committee.
  • Supervise and direct the clinic staff
  • Oversight of deliverable and processes of clinical staff, to include missed medical appointment tracking, refusal of periodic medical service tracking, daily logs of service and work attendance records
  • Comply with applicable OSHA standards.
  • The OHP may be asked to provide expert witness services, as an occupational medicine specialist, which may include reviewing medical records, testifying at hearings or depositions, and consulting with Government attorneys and other professional services.

Requirements

  • District of Columbus State Medical License
  • Board Certification - American Board of Preventive Medicine (Occupational Medicine).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Security Clearance - (must complete a Federal Background Check)
