As Lead Designer at CFMOTO USA, you’ll drive the future of powersports design while mentoring emerging design talent. Project guide a skilled team to deliver innovative, award-winning products that redefine industry standards. Leverage your progressive experience to partner with engineering, product, and global teams to transform your creative vision into reality, from a concept sketch into production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Defines and leads the creative product vision for design projects, ensuring alignment with CFMOTO’s brand DNA and market product strategies.
- Mentors a team of junior designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous creative motivation
- Drives the design process from the initial concept sketch through the full-size clay into production, managing timelines, teams and communication effectively
- Collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and international partners, to achieve the design vision
- Conducts in-depth design market research and trends analysis to inform design decisions and identify new opportunities with the product team
- Incorporates design trends from automotive, fashion, and entertainment industries to infuse and elevate powersports design
- Presents compelling design concepts and strategies to management stakeholders using high-quality visuals in 2D or 3D presentations telling the story
- Ensures all designs meet the highest standards of quality, innovation, ergonomics and user experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or a related field
- Experience: 10 years of professional progressive experience in design, with a keen eye for fresh styling and modern trends, demonstrated through leading small teams and projects to deliver award-winning, high-impact vehicle/powersports designs. Extensive expertise in designing and launching production vehicles, ideally in the powersports or automotive industry.
SKILLS
- Proficiency in current design software such as Photoshop (Preferred Strong knowledge in 3D: Alias, Blender) adept at transforming sketches into 3D models.
- Strong sketching, rendering, 3D modeling, and visualization
- Proficient in understanding form and volumes, effectively guiding clay sculptors to translate initial sketches into accurate design form and proportions
- Deep understanding of part fit and finish, materials, manufacturing processes, and production feasibility. (ORV product knowledge is a plus)
- Knowledge of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Color, Material, Finish (CMFG) design
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in an ever-changing fast paced, collaborative environment

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of job-related factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, certifications, education, location and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $100 - $135k annually. Our competitive salaries are just one component to CFMOTO’s total compensation package. Additional benefits include: medical, dental & vision insurance, 401k match, vacation & sick time, life insurance and employee purchase discounts and opportunities.
