What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist, Registered Programs position at CFP BD OF STANDARD CTR FOR FINANCIAL PLANNING?
Under general supervision, the Registered Programs Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating all activities associated with CFP Board Registered Programs and the Education requirements for CFP® certification.
Essential Functions
- Reviews and processes registered program initial applications, renewal submissions and annual reporting for compliance with CFP Board standards
- Serves as primary point of contact with university staff and leadership
- Develops formal written correspondence to institutions of higher learning based upon initial and renewal applications
- Assists Registered Programs with submissions via the Online Education Verification System
- Manages candidate submissions for the education coursework requirement for the CFP exam
- Leads onboarding calls with new and prospective programs to guide them through the program registration process
- Manages registered program database; prepares updates, reports, and dashboards to monitor department activities, provides qualitative and quantitative analysis of data and identifies trends
- Coordinates the planning of the annual Registered Program Conference, including event communications, event schedule, coordinating speakers and presentation materials, on-site event management, and designing event collateral materials
- Tracks deliverables for relevant partnerships or contracts
- Assists with preparing the materials for meetings, including Council on Education and campus visits
- Updates and maintains education webpages under the purview of the Director of Education
- Collaborates with IT department on developing custom firm reports, reporting issues and special projects.
- Collaborates with the Director of College and University Relations on providing leads and updates to any new or prospective programs.
- Collaborates with the Student Engagement Manager on student engagement on reports, statistics, and initiatives.
- Performs other departmental projects and duties as assigned
Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other equivalent relevant discipline
- Minimum of 4 years’ work experience with a certifying organization or non-profit association preferred
- Meeting planning experience is a plus
- Minimum of intermediate level expertise in Microsoft Office suite; expert knowledge of Excel preferred
- Proficient business writing skills written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of AMS systems, NetForum preferred
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data to distinguish between activity types and identify trends Proficient in program coordination, administration, and communication
- Detail-oriented self-starter with high energy and the ability to work independently, accurately and on schedule
- Ability to adapt quickly and readily to change
- Ability to work and collaborate as a part of a motivated, driven team
- Strong customer service focus and ability to effectively ask questions and communicate in potentially challenging situations
- Commitment to serve stakeholders in a timely, accurate and professional manner
