POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists the Human Resources Department and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of non-exempt and exempt employee needs. Responsibilities also include, but not limited to: data entry and integrity of the HRIS system, administration of company programs, employee relations and point of contact for employee inquires. Coordinates employee-related programs and events. Must be able to meet deadlines and be versatile to ever changing business and customer needs. Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Processes all paperwork and electronic processing of the department, including employee interaction, paperwork processing, and all inquiries with the utmost confidentiality, judgment and exercise of discretion.
- Organizes, maintains and processes employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, change in status, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the information.
- Processes employment applications, maintaining logs, and assists in other employment activities, including such things as career fairs, reference checks, orientation process, change in status postings and position postings, offer letters, separation paperwork, etc. and ensures appropriate follow-up.
- Maintains employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
- Provides proper forms requested by employees.
- Maintains employee information areas providing up-to-date information and ensuring legal compliance.
- Coordinates employee “perks” such as corporate membership passes, marriage, birth and sympathy giving, and employee events such as Presidential Roundtable lunches, Holiday party and summer picnic. Also coordinates corporate blood drives. Prepares anniversary and birthday postings.
- Coordinates CGS Apparel Program including maintenance of materials, ordering, distribution and invoice reconciliation.
- Performs other duties as needed to include, but not limited to filing, photocopying, scanning, and all other administrative office functions such as meeting arrangement, room preparation, and assembly of materials. Types and proofreads correspondence, tabular data, reports, letters and other materials from rough draft.
- Prepare and maintain reports/records necessary to carry out the functions of the work area, as required or necessary. Perform the typing/word processing of letters, interoffice correspondence and various reports, as well as all HRIS records pertaining to job responsibilities. Maintains and updates Human Resources materials including orientation paperwork, policies, forms and other communication pieces.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess the ability to read, analyze and interpret business and technical documents, flow charts, budget information, procedure manuals and so on; the ability to prepare required routine reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively with others, using skill and diplomacy and have the ability to work with all levels of the organization, and carry out duties with accuracy.
- Requires the ability to work within established health, safety and quality guidelines and the ability to organize the workload and meet deadlines.
- Must possess knowledge and experience in automated systems and terminology and the ability to develop and interpret related reports using spreadsheet, word processing software
- Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers/decimals and the ability to apply concepts of business math to practical situations and dimensions to production.
- Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
- Must possess the ability to remain highly confidential in all matters of the department and all output of the department.
SCOPE
This position is responsible for making sure Human Resources meets the needs of our internal customer. This person has the responsibility of being the point of contact and a resource to employees throughout the organization. Absolute confidentiality for all personnel matters is imperative. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
