Professional Requirements
Position Summary:
Demonstrates proficiency in the use/operation of respiratory equipment and provision of respiratory treatment to assigned age specific patient population (e.g. infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) and participates in related continuing education. Provides care to assigned patients according to professional standards and established procedures, using good judgement and personal initiative.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Completion of two (2) years AMA approved course in Respiratory Care or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
- N/A
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Must possess excellent assessment skills to floor therapy and patients on mechanical ventilators.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Three year's experience in all phases of acute Respiratory Care preferred.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- Current RCP license in California
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certified by the National Board for respiratory Care
- BLS Card
- Specialty certification as necessary for assigned area
- Fire Card
