What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Challenge Manufacturing Company?
POSITION SUMMARY
Working as a member of a team or as an individual, performs and has primary responsibility for various types of shipping related duties, including but not limited to; coordinating the preparation and loading of trucks, completing associated shipping paperwork, performing material movements and inventory transactions and inventory cycle counts.
RESPONSIBILITIES & RESULTS
- Pull orders per order pick list and re-palatalize as required.
- Label orders with required destination labels.
- Compare and verify orders against pick lists.
- Verify trailers are docked in and secured properly.
- Operate tier lift truck or hand truck to stage orders and load trucks.
- Verify loading order to pick list and shipper.
- Perform other warehouse functions as requested.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel abilities (required).
- Ability to type 70 words per minute (required).
- Associate degree in business administration (preferred). Three years’ shipping or manufacturing experience (preferred).
