Accountant

The Champaign County Auditor’s Office has an opening for a highly energetic, accurate and dependable person to join our team of accounting professionals. Primary duties include: review and audit invoices and other claims for payment, verify that expenditures follow County Board policy, audit purchase requisitions in excess of $10,000.00 and then encumber funds for conversion to purchase orders, assist in the preparation of reports and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must be well organized, detail oriented and have good communication skills. The ability to interpret and enforce policy is a must. While a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, a combination of education and work experience will be considered. Government accounting or audit experience is a plus.

Salary range $21.84 - $32.75 per hour DOQ.  Excellent benefit package offered.
