JOB DESCRIPTION: BARTENDER
Summary:
Provides an outstanding guest service experience in an enthusiastic and energetic fashion while meeting or exceeding guests expectations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guest and take beverage orders in a prompt and professional manner
- Have strong knowledge of menu to offer suggestions and choices
- Prepare high quality cocktails that meet all recipe standards.
- Abides by local beverage alcohol regulations and any prescribed alcohol awareness & service training program for the safe service of beverage alcohol.
- Is able to correctly open and pour wine, according to wine service standards
- Properly prepares garnishes according to recipe standards. Properly stores and rotates fresh garnishes to maximize the quality of the ingredients.
- Can connect a keg and pour beers according to beer recipes.
- Anticipates the needs of their guests.
- Demonstrates accuracy with POS procedures, ringing in orders, credit card charges, room charges and cash handling procedures.
- Maximizes sales opportunities through recommendations.
- Answer phone, take To Go/Room Service orders
- Have strong knowledge of food menu to offer suggestions and choices
- Assist in delivering drinks as needed
- Clean and stock service areas and assigned stations. Pre bus bar area to enhance guest experience
- Actively behind the bar at all times
- Follow all safe food handling procedures
- Complete opening and/or closing duties
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Excellent Guest Service skills
- Ability to follow menu specifications, read tickets and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Ability to follow directions, work in a fast paced, customer responsive environment
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with associates, management and guests
- Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Minimum lifting, pushing and pulling of 40 pounds
- Pushing, bending, stooping, walking, upward reaching, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, writing, typing, verbal communication.
