What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Channel Fish Company?
Position Summary: The Production Worker works in a team of 8-12 people in an assembly type of line, producing product for Pet Food.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sorting out fish
- Visually inspect fish for foreign materials/metals
- Picking up any fish spillage
- Lifting totes with fish to fill freezers
- Manually fill freezers with a feeder arm
- Palletize frozen blocks
- Wrap and label pallets
- Salt fish
- Package and stack fish
- Report any issues to the supervisor on duty
- Follow health and safety standards
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualification and Skills:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Willing to work weekends and overtime
- Able to work with other people and take orders
- Experience in the seafood industry is a plus
- Reliable transportation
- Licensed to operate a forklift/pallet jack is a plus but not necessary
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a very cold and wet environment for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
