Charles F. Evans Company, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant that will perform various accounting, financial and administrative support functions.

Position Responsibilities:
• Enter daily payroll, process and review weekly payroll for accuracy.
• Collect, review required paperwork prior to new associates beginning work and set up new associates in payroll system.
• Maintain PTO, Bonus Payments, Support Orders, Garnishments, 401(k) deductions, health insurance deductions and any other associate-related field payroll items.
• Maintain Certificates of Insurance for audit purposes and determine compliance with current company policies including acquiring W-9 information for 1099 reporting.
• Review project set up in the Job Cost system.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Complete monthly financial closing process for division including key reconciliations.
• Assist project managers in preparation of job billings, contract compliance and accounts receivable collections.
• Occasionally perform miscellaneous office tasks – accepting deliveries, answering phones, delivering bids, copying blue prints, etc.
• Vouchering accounts payable invoices into accounting system, learning to code invoices prior to entering, payment of invoices, and all other duties associated with accounts payable as assigned.
• Review of documentation and checks prepared by others for compliance, accuracy and authenticity.
• Responsible for reviewing fuel usage, truck mileage reports, warranty tracking and licenses.
• Furnish credit information to potential new vendors
• Provide backup to Accounting Manager and other administrative associates, including but not limited to, payroll, vacation coverage, lunch period coverage and answering the telephone.
• Comply with all Safety Policies and Procedures, be an example, and support the company safety goals and objectives.
Position Requirements:
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word preferred
