Job Title: Student Financial Services Coordinator
Department: Office of Student Financial Services
Position Summary: The Student Financial Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role within our office, responsible for providing comprehensive support to students and families throughout the financial aid and student accounts processes. This multifaceted position involves a wide range of duties, including customer service, program coordination, compliance monitoring, website management, and student outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer service: Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries from students, parents, and staff regarding financial aid, billing, and scholarship programs. Provide accurate and timely assistance and information to resolve inquiries and address concerns.
- Federal Work-Study (FWS) program support: Assist with the coordination and administration of the FWS program, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
- Website management: Manage and update the financial aid section of the university website with relevant information, announcements, deadlines, forms, and resources to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
- Compliance monitoring: Audit and monitor compliance with specified guidelines and requirements for financial aid and scholarship programs. Research and resolve problematic issues to ensure compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Direct customer service: Provide direct customer service regarding all financial aid and billing activities to constituents.
- Front desk coverage: Answer office emails and voicemails and provide front desk coverage when necessary to ensure continuous support and accessibility for students and families.
- Student billing inquiries: Answer student and parent inquiries regarding student accounts, payment amounts due, financial aid disbursement, and other billing-related matters.
- Student communication and outreach: Engage in student communication, chat bot interactions, and social media outreach to disseminate information, promote financial aid resources, and address student concerns. Attend and set up on-campus outreach events to assist with recruitment and registration activities.
- Data analysis and processing: Review, analyze, evaluate, process, and monitor information, records, transcripts, applications, and other data related to student programs, requirements, standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Communication: Communicate in person, electronically, or in writing with applicants, students, and/or parents to convey and exchange information and documents related to financial aid and student accounts.
Work Environment: The Student Financial Services Coordinator primarily works in an office environment within the Student Financial Services. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate student needs or special events.
Reporting Structure: The Student Financial Services Coordinator reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Financial Services.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred in a relevant field such as finance, business administration, education, or communications.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web content management systems, and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures is a plus.
