Overview of Primary Duties:
The Deputy Treasurer reports to the County Treasurer and is responsible for collecting money for delinquent property taxes, receipting in deposits, balancing, and maintaining records, preparing reports, issuing dog licenses, collecting, and opening mail, answering questions at the counter and over the phone, and supporting general office functions and assisting with other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
· Basic computer skills specifically with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
· Customer service skills
· Able to work independently and as part of a team, problem solve, and manage projects.
· Public service and detail oriented
· Positive attitude, flexible, and a team-oriented worker
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
· Basic accounting knowledge
Environment:
This position is based primarily in a climate-controlled office atmosphere. This position requires sitting at a desk or standing at the front counter for extended periods of time using a computer or assisting with customer requests. Applicants must possess the physical ability to answer phones, traverse from one work location and/or office to another multiple times per day. Applicants must possess the physical ability to twist, bend, and flex to facilitate the handling of files stored at various heights and must be able to transfer up to twenty pounds of records, documents, or supplies as needed.
