Experience/Training Points
- Learn to prepare and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Learn to assist dentists during various procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside support
- Learn to manage patient flow by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating medical records accurately in EMR systems such as Curve Hero or Dentrix
- Learn to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Learn how to maintain a clean, organized sterilization area and dental operatory to uphold safety standards and efficient workflow
- Ensure proper documentation of medical coding, dental terminology, and clinical notes within electronic health records (Epic or similar systems)
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is welcomed, but not required!
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside procedures is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Curve Hero or Dentrix, along with understanding of HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management
- Ability to learn infection control practices, aseptic technique, and dental terminology necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment
- Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
