Charyl Stockwell Academy is hiring a full time Paraprofessional.

Education Requirements: High school diploma (or equivalent); and Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics
Essential functions of a Paraprofessional:
- Provides academic, social, and/or behavior support to students in order to enhance their success within the school setting. Support may be provided individually or within small groups.
- Support student achievement within the classroom.
- Assist in the monitoring and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
- Monitor student performance to ensure assignments are being completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with parents and staff within the school building.
- Adapting/modifying classroom materials, per teacher direction, accessible to students with special needs.
- May assist with individual student needs such as navigating the hallways and toileting.
- Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and the community.
- Participates in in-service training programs as requested.
- Regular, predictable in-person attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Language Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English language;

- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, parents, staff members and the school community.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to coordinate hands, eyes, feet and limbs in performing semi-skilled movements such as operation of a computer keyboard and telephone. The employee is required to be on his/her feet walking around the classroom and building for several hours at a time. The employee is occasionally required to exert light to medium physical effort in sedentary and light to medium work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, walking, standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision and ability to adjust focus.
Environmental adaptability:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to moderately quiet. The work environment is indoors with controlled climate conditions and outdoors for a short period of time each day, and therefore subject to varying weather conditions, for purposes of accomplishing the essential functions of this job.
