What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pianist position at Chaska Moravian Church?
Chaska Moravian Church is seeking a dedicated pianist. This role would entail playing at every Sunday Worship service, Christmas Eve Service, Easter Service, weeknight evening services during the Lenten season, and other occasional services at the discretion of the Pastor.
Pay is on a weekly basis, with 1/2 time paid for services outside of a typical full Sunday service and we are open to conversation regarding the rate. Funeral services would also be included based on the applicant's availability, and would add supplemental pay different for each service's context.
Chaska Moravian is a small Mainline Protestant Church located in the heart of Chaska. We have a new Pastor with a lot of energy, and drive to make worship a meaningful and lively experience. Because we are a church family we also have friends and members of the congregation who can fill in for our dedicated pianist, meaning that this position is not without time off!
We currently worship every Sunday at 10am, with the worship team meeting the hour before to run through the songs for the day and practice. We play both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs during services - we believe all worship music is contemporary because we're singing it now! The Church has a lovely grand piano in its Sanctuary. Experience with Piano tuning and A/V equipment would certainly be a plus, but are by no means required.
