Are you passionate about ensuring fair and accessible elections? Chatham County Voter
Registration is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant I to join our team! This
position is ideal for someone with experience in administrative tasks and a commitment to
providing excellent customer service.
Examples of Duties
Under direct supervision, you
- Update County voter records, process new registration applications, and make other necessary changes.
- Provide prompt and courteous assistance to the public by phone and in person.
- Perform technical, clerical, and administrative support duties, including filing documents in alphabetical and/or numerical order, assisting with the scanning process, and verifying voting location by computer and district/precinct map.
- Manage a satellite early voting location during election cycles.
- Work a nontraditional schedule (7:00 am - 8:00 pm), including Saturdays and Sundays, during election cycles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- One (1) year of administrative assistant, clerical, or related experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including a fax machine, copier, and scanner.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete keyboarding and clerical testing during the interview process.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
