Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of Speech Therapists and Speech Therapy Assistants.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and understanding.
- Support students with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance as needed.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students.
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, and communicate observations to the educational team.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred.
- Understanding of disabilities and ability to implement strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
