What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Support Specialist Intermediate Care position at CHD Brand?
CHD is seeking experienced care givers to provide direct support to two adults living in an intensive residential setting. The individuals served live with developmental disabilities and present co-occurring challenging behavioral issues. Support Specialists provide residents with opportunities to maximize independence, community engagement and rehabilitation while assisting with activities of daily living, administering medication, and informal counseling.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have at least two years of strong community-based human service experience with a similar population, the ability to provide structure, support and physical redirection, empathy for others and a commitment to those with significant needs. Must have a vehicle available for work purposes as well as ability to complete agency-sponsored first aid, CPR and medication administration training. CPI or other training in managing difficult behaviors is strongly preferred.
