POSITION SUMMARY

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in the organization's talent strategy, focusing on identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the company's staffing needs. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective talent acquisition strategies, collaborating with hiring managers to define job requirements, sourcing candidates through various channels, including maintain and building relationships with local schools and managing the full recruitment lifecycle. The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Human Resources Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Research, develop, and implement innovative and effective talent acquisition strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of talent acquisition and on-boarding process for all employees which includes posting and closing jobs, screening resumes, interviewing, conducting background checks, and offering jobs.
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand their staffing needs and develop comprehensive job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Attend and participate in job and career fairs, advisory boards, and other career events representing Checkered Flag in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with school partners on speaking engagements, open houses, career events, other professional events, along with job boards, social media, professional networks, and industry events to attract talent to the company.
  • Assist with new hire orientation training program and setup.
  • Support and maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion, career plans, and succession planning.
  • Deliver best-in-class presentations and training learning through large and small group classroom and individual facilitation.
  • Participate in employee training assessments and store visits for training evaluations.
  • Manager and track the recruiting budget throughout the year, including creating the annual budget.
  • Assists with system administration for the HRIS (UKG), ensuring data accuracy, system security, and user access management in compliance with company policies and procedures. Includes troubleshooting issues and providing training and support as needed.
  • Generate talent reports including the Open Requisition report, pending requisition approvals, Time to Fill, and any additional reports as needed.
  • Involved in various HR projects as needed.
  • Assist with company social and volunteering events.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, Management, or another related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of general HR-related experience is required, which includes administrator experience of an HRIS, and recruiting.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Working knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining human resources information system records.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask and prioritize demands.
  • Self-starter, ability to resolve issues and research solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to understand and respond to customer needs (internal and external) in a timely manner.

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certification from SHRM, HRCI, or ATD a plus.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry a plus.

  • No direct reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use of eyes for close vision, use hands, fingers, grasp, handle, reach, listen, talk, and may need to talk on the telephone while taking notes. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 30 pounds or ask for assistance. The employee is required to wear eye protection when walking through the service departments.

Normal working schedule: 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, with a flexible start time option.
