About the Opportunity

Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a part-time competitive Gymnastics Team Coach to join our team. 

As part of our team, you will be responsible for instructing competitive athletes and creating an encouraging, fun environment that fosters development.

• You have experience coaching Gymnastics in a competitive environment.  

• You are enthusiastic about coaching. 

• You are committed to creating a positive environment where athletes can thrive.  

• You have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and like helping others. 

• You like creating relationships with team members and customers. 

• You are a team player. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Instruct competitive team athlete in our Developmental and Xcel programs  

• Teach recreational gymnastics classes. 

• Create a fun, safe and productive environment. 

• Attend all scheduled hours. 

• Create and implement age/skill appropriate curriculum for classes and team. 

• Follow rotation schedule. 

• Track practice and class attendance. 

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of prior competitive gymnastics coaching experience. 

• Exhibits an energetic, professional, and courteous demeanor. 

• Ability to work independently or within a group. 

• Willingness to learn from and share knowledge with coworkers. 

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. 

• Enjoys working in a team environment. 

• Must be energetic and enthusiastic. 

• Punctual and reliable. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times and comply to uniform standards.  

Preferably at least 1 year of experience teaching gymnastics and/or working with children 

Schedule: Mainly weekday evenings and weekend mornings, depending on season and business needs; weekend shifts are required  

Compensation: $18-$30/hour, depending on experience
