What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller position at Chemisys Laboratory?
Chemisys Laboratory is a rapidly growing, national, full service Lab with headquarters in Fair Lawn NJ. We are seeking a billing associate. Experience is preferred, but we will provide paid training. Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Reviews/downloads insurance Explanation of Benefits and posts payments to billing system.
- Posts payments and ensures allowances, adjustments and write-offs are posted correctly.
- Reconcile electronic remittances (ERA) and EFT payments.
- Performs tasks required to ensure the timely and accurate follow up of all assigned claims and documents billing.
- Addresses any discrepancies in charges, payments, adjustments and demographic information.
- Submit electronic and paper insurance claims within 24 hours of receiving the requisitions.
- Ensuring the patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date.
- Collecting and reviewing referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Investigating and appealing denied claims.
