CMA is hiring a Water Resources Engineer to work on Aviation and Transportation projects. This position will consist of performing hydraulic calculations for closed drainage networks and open channel design, analysis of stormwater management facilities, water quality modeling, stormwater permitting through state and local regulatory agencies, and erosion control design for Aviation projects, as well as Transportation related projects with FDOT, other state transportation agencies, and local municipalities. Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize his or her workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic. Previous experience with Aviation, Transportation, and Land Development/Site Civil projects is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Candidate shall work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting and construction oversight while working in a project team environment.
- Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; site grading; erosion control design, and stormwater permitting.
- Prepare project design drawings within AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
- Develop project specific detail drawings.
- Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
- Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
- Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
- Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support.
- Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout.
- Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations pertaining to open channel design, storm sewer design, and culvert design.
- Perform water quality and water quantity calculations for stormwater management design.
- Prepare permit application documentation.
- Permit research and review.
- Support and cross train with other civil disciplines if time permits.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years’ experience considered; 2-5 years’ relevant experience preferred.
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Experience with transportation, aviation, and land development / site design projects preferred.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, ICPR, HY8, etc. is preferred.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- A master’s degree
- Knowledge of FDOT or other state transportation agency standards.
- Knowledge of FAA Drainage criteria.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.
