Rusk, Texas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Unless the bachelor’s degree is in criminal justice, criminology, corrections, counseling, human services development, law, law enforcement, police science, pre-law, public administration, rehabilitative studies, social work, psychology or sociology, the applicant must have: one year of graduate study in one of those fields; or one year of full-time experience in casework, counseling, community or group work; or other satisfactory education or experience.

DUTIES:

Supervise a caseload of offenders placed under community supervision for felony and misdemeanor offenses. Specific duties will consist of monitoring the offender’s compliance with the orders of the Court through routine office and field contacts to ensure community safety, referring the offender to behavioral changing resources, conducting assessments and individual case supervision plans, intake with new probationers, communicating with probation officers in other counties to determine an offender’s compliance with conditions of probation and reporting violations of probation to the appropriate authority in a timely manner. This list is not extensive but covers the main areas of responsibility.

SALARY:

Entry Level: $40,000 plus benefits, depending on experience,
