What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute teacher position at Cherokee Nation?
Overview In absence of the teacher, teaches school students academic, social, and motor skills. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
No additional experience required. Must have knowledge of a variety of teaching methods, principles of secondary education an appropriate subject matter as well as possess skills in communication, recording data and construction of testing items.
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudiation for child care.
Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual teaching aids to present subject matter to class. Prepares, administers, and correct tests, and records results.
Assigns lessons, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations. Teaches rules of conduct. Maintains order in classroom and on school property.
Counsels pupils when adjustment and academic problems arise. Discusses pupils' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents.
Keeps attendance and grade records as required by school. Other duties may be assigned. Schedule : M-F 730a-330p as needed
