SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Possess ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
Possess patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be able to provide effective and meaningful programming to residents based on whatever level at which they are currently functioning.
Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing principles.
Possess the ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Participate in continuing education and in-service training.
Possess the ability to push, pull or lift, all without restrictions up to 51 lbs. Moving furniture, various equipment and displays up to about 100 pounds is frequently required—WITH the equipment designed for that purpose.

EXPERIENCE:
As a minimum, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility is preferred.
EDUCATION:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
