Irrigation Technician - Landscape Maintenance
 

JOB SUMMARY 

Cherrylake is currently seeking an experienced Landscape Irrigation Technician for our Landscape Maintenance Division. The irrigation technician will operate, adjust and repair irrigation components and systems as required to ensure proper coverage and delivery to the landscape area. Ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background and working knowledge of all aspects of landscape irrigation, understand how irrigation supports the landscape and a general knowledge of landscape maintenance practices.  Follow all indicated safety processes and policies, including wearing all required personal protective equipment. English and Spanish speaking a plus and must have valid Florida driver’s license.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Receives work schedule from Irrigation Manager or Account Manager.

  • Report directly to designated job site(s) at the start of the job shift.

  • Complete irrigation inspections per schedule.

  • Conduct before and after inspections of work sites.

  • Program irrigation controllers.

  • Repair valves, heads, lateral and main lines, controllers and communication wiring.

  • Maintains a clean work site that focuses on reducing safety hazards. (Marking off repair trenches and holes, trip hazards, or other safety hazards to the public)

  • Complete and turn in daily inspection reports.

  • Adhere to all company driving safety policies and regulations.

  • Complete weekly vehicle and equipment inspections.

  • Keep vehicles and equipment clean and in good working order. 

  • Perform daily/weekly inventory counts of equipment and supplies. 

  • Track work hours. 

  • All other duties assigned for landscape irrigation maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in landscape irrigation.

  • Detail oriented with highly evolved organizational skills, effective time management and excellent follow up.

  • High level of professional maturity, superior written & oral communications skills. 

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Ability to anticipate needs and problem solve.

  • Ability to manage change, flexible when priorities shift.

  • Ability to interact with internal and external partners.

  • Needs to be self-motivated, team player and results oriented.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment, multi-task to meet schedule deadlines with limited supervision. Keen attention to detail.

Physical Demands

Irrigation work is done outdoors in all kinds of weather. The work can be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. 

Job Site Conditions 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment. In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to the homeowner’s pets.


REQUIRED LICENSES 

  • Valid Drivers’s License with clean MVR.

  • Industry Certifications a plus.
