Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination and completion of CRSC occupational safety and health training and consultation activities in direct support of the Council’s mission. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in OSHA compliance, workplace safety culture, and training program development.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Tasks
- Provide OSHA compliance assistance to assigned clients under the supervision of the Consultation Lead.
- Conduct on-site risk assessments and comprehensive job site inspections.
- Evaluate safety culture, physical conditions, and practices; prepare written reports and present findings to management teams.
- Review and recommend updates to clients’ existing safety and health programs.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to create or revise client S&H programs.
- Promote and sell CRSC safety and health training and services.
- Provide necessary invoicing information to the accounting department.
- Research and recommend strategies to expand CRSC’s consultation programs.
- Assist clients in developing safety committees and serve as an advisor.
- Respond to safety and health-related phone and email inquiries.
- Actively participate in CRSC activities and related industry associations.
- Develop effective working relationships with peers and supervisors.
Weekly
- Participate in CRSC Level 10 (L10) team meetings.
Quarterly
- Participate in quarterly conversations with the Director of Training & Consultation.
Annually
- Attend and assist with the CRSC Expo & Conference.
- Participate in the annual performance appraisal process.
As Needed
- Communicate with assigned clients to understand their safety and health needs and maintain strong relationships.
- Draft Professional Service Agreements in collaboration with the Consultation Lead.
- Travel to and attend conferences aligned with CRSC’s mission.
- Attend in-person CRSC meetings and events as deemed necessary by leadership.
- Instruct or train clients on occupational safety and health topics, including programs specifically designed for their organization.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of a 2-year college degree (Occupational Safety or related field preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction or manufacturing safety.
- At least 2 years of experience conducting audits and inspections.
Certifications
- NSC CPR/First Aid Instructor required.
- OHST, CHST (or equivalent) preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrates CRSC’s five Core Values.
- Extensive working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI standards, and current industry practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and calendar management.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and solve problems efficiently.
- Professional demeanor with excellent work ethic.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including occasional weekends.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods; repetitive hand motion for typing and data entry.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and maneuver around construction, industrial, and maritime job sites.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, working at heights, and using required PPE.
- Must have the ability to travel by car or air, occasionally on short notice and for multi-day assignments.
