Formulator / Material Handler
Job Summary:
Retrieve, weigh, and palletize raw ingredients needed for seasoning batches according to the batch formula, using calibrated scales, tools, and laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh, label, and palletize seasoning batches needed for production.
- Follow the production schedule and complete the formulation of seasoning batches based on the order the batches will be produced.
- Properly seal all unused materials for the material handler to return to the correct warehouse location.
- Will prepare workstation, scales, boxing materials, and bag supplies daily.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED required.
- 1 year warehouse experience required; food manufacturing preferred.
- Experience picking, material handling, and order selection of materials preferred.
- Strong math skills.
- Strong attention to deal.
- Strong oral comprehension and expression skills.
- Dependability with a sense of urgency.
- Push, pull, lift and/or carry heavy products such as equipment, bags and/or drums weighing up to 100lbs regularly.
- Must have the ability to become forklift certified.
- Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty, and may contain spices with high heat.
- Walk long distances repeatedly, bend, stoop, climb stairs, ladders, or platforms.
- Ability to stand the entire duration of shift.
- Ability to pick up product with scoop repeatedly.
- Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, and working with hands often.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words.
- Able to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds such as alarms.
- Near and far visual acuity required.
- Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures.
