What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Supervisor position at Chesterfield County?
High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in field operations work, including two years of supervisory experience. Cashiering operations, heavy equipment maintenance, waste management and contractor administration experience are strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Solid computer and calculator skills are required; good customer service, conflict management, and communication skills, as well as accurate record keeping are necessary. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities include supervising and scheduling convenience center personnel, managing contractors, and assisting with the oversight of daily solid waste and recycling operations where safety is the top priority. Reports to the Assistant Operations Manager and provides daily support to the Operations Manager and Division Manager. Other key duties include ensuring excellent customer service and well-maintained facilities; complying with all environmental and safety laws and regulations; and assisting with household hazardous waste and storm debris management programs. Display a positive attitude. Perform other duties as required.

Projected Schedule:
First Week: Monday, Thursday, Friday 6:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.; Tuesday 6:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.
Second Week: Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday 6:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.; Tuesday 11:15 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
