Position Summary
Exciting opportunity to join Chickie’s and Pete’s, the #1 rated sports bar in North America by ESPN. Join our newest location in the newly renovated Bally’s Casino in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will be brought on as a General Manager in training under the current General Manager. The General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the location, overseeing the inventory and ordering of food and supplies, optimizing profits and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Job Tasks
- Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
- Follow all Chickie’s & Pete’s service standards
- Resolve customer complaints about food quality or service taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied Guests into return Guests
- Monitor cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards
- Check quality of deliveries including fresh and frozen food, seafood and baked goods
- Place orders with all suppliers to ensure proper inventory levels
- Ensure proper communication with South Philly regarding product needs and pick-ups
- Complete inventory reports as needed
- Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services
- Recruit, hire, train and when necessary terminate employees; ensure all paperwork is in order
- Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectations
- Prepare schedules and ensure the location is staffed for all shifts; relieve staff when needed in order to maintain proper labor numbers
- Adhere to yearly and monthly budget numbers to ensure maximum profitability is achieved
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increases sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen area
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
- Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality food preparation and service
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards
- Work with corporate office staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies
- Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste
- Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect staff, Guests and company assets
- Make daily deposits as needed
- Ensure a safe working and dining environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
- Complete accident reports promptly in the event a Guest or employee is injured
- Additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Main Responsibilities, Required Skills and Knowledge
Guest Service
Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet Guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests’ experience.
Communication
Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. Must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.
Interpersonal Relationships
Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.
Teamwork
Working together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.
Sales Techniques and Guest Influence
Must understand all Chickie’s & Pete’s products and services as well as have the ability to
understand Guest’s needs clearly.
Performing General Physical Activities
Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Problem Solving and Conflict Management
Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.
Analytical Skills
General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge. Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome to problems.
Technical Skills
Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems and credit card machines.
Language Skills
Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language.
Quality Control and Priority Assessment
Must evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve business methods, quality of products and services provided.
Flexibility
Willing to assist with the workload of others when needed and take on additional responsibilities that may be assigned at any given time based on volume of business, staffing, etc.
Time Management Skills
Must know and use methods and organizational techniques to delegate appropriate tasks and manage staff workloads in a manner that promotes efficiency and respects the time of others.
