SUMMARY
Child Care Resources Inc. (CCRI) is a private, non-profit child care resource and referral (CCR&R) agency that works with families and communities to help ensure that all children have access to high-quality, affordable early learning and school-age opportunities and experiences that enable them to succeed in school and in life.
CCRI's Early Learning Quality Advancement department works with child care programs and early educators to build knowledge and skills that can improve teaching practices and learning environments, resulting in higher quality care for children provided. Staff provide technical assistance to help directors and teachers in child care centers and family child care homes enhance the quality of care provided for children and families to help meet short- and long-term goals, maintain higher quality, address professional development needs, and support program start-up or corrective action requirements.
Quality Every Day (QED) is one of CCRI's Early Learning Quality Advancement initiatives (funded by Smart Start of Mecklenburg County) which works to build the knowledge, skills, and practices of child care educators to enhance their interactions with young children and to improve the early care and education experience for each child on a daily basis.
CCRI is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and relational Quality Every Day (QED) Coach to join the QED team to support child care educators (with a focus on directors and administrators) participating in the Quality Every Day initiative. QED Coaches are responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating professional development opportunities and activities to enhance the professional growth and leadership skills of participants; providing on-site technical assistance; developing individual classroom and center professional development plans; and demonstrating effective strategies for sustaining quality programs.
Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Networks with appropriate organizations, agencies, programs, and services within the community to identify programs that would benefit and be interested in the Quality Every Day (QED) initiative. Recruits and enrolls programs into QED.
2. Manages a caseload of classrooms/family child care homes enrolled in QED. Provides on-site technical assistance, including assessment, coaching, mentoring, and modeling to improve the quality programming for children.
3. Engages all classroom teaching staff /family child care providers in the QED initiative as well as the program administrator.
4. Completes pre-engagement CLASS assessments in each classroom/family child care home and works with teachers and administrator to develop classroom and program-wide improvement plans.
5. Provides intensive coaching and modeling in assigned classrooms/homes, using individualized, child-centric improvement plans, with a focus on strengthening teacher child interactions.
6. Works intensively with assigned program administrators to support their roles as instructional leaders and their commitment to continuous quality improvement.
7. Works with teachers, providers, and directors to measure progress toward goals and identify additional information and supports needed to improve practices.
8. Provides digital and print resources to assigned classroom/homes. Use myTeachstone to communicate with assigned teachers, providers, and directors.
9. Delivers training (face-to-face and online) as needed to QED participants on quality improvement and leadership development.
10. Completes post-engagement CLASS assessments in each classroom and shares outcomes with the teachers, directors, and providers.
11. Keeps informed of local, state, and federal licensing regulations, as well as national standards assessment tools, that affect quality care for children and youth and communicates this information program participants.
12. Maintains accurate and up-to-date program files, databases and site visit reports as well as program assessments. Provides accurate documentation of attendance at training, using attendance sheets and evaluation tools.
13. Provides reports, in an accurate and timely manner, as requested by the department supervisor.
14. Assists the department supervisor in submitting grant proposals, developing work procedures, and in training and orienting new staff.
15. Collaborates with other CCRI trainers on an on-going basis to improve and coordinate the agency's delivery of training and technical assistance.
16. Collaborates with CPCC staff to connect teachers for enrollment, support teachers in coursework and to deliver coursework through CPCC partnership.
17. Attends trainings and team and agency meetings to address agency and departmental goals and objectives.
18. Practices professional renewal through a variety of means, such as attending regional and national conferences, participating in professional organizations, and remaining abreast of current research and literature.
19. Collaborates with local and state regulatory and licensing agencies, maintaining close working relationships.
20. Represents the agency effectively and professionally in the community, including participation on community-based committees and presentations at conferences, as appropriate.
21. Demonstrates good interpersonal relationships with customers, fellow employees, and supervisors.
22. Maintains confidentiality regarding departmental and agency matters.
23. Promotes a positive image of the agency in the community.
24. Advocates for children and families in support of the agency's mission and goals.
25. Works some nights and weekends as assigned to provide training to early childhood professionals in the community.
26. Establishes good and culturally sensitive rapport with colleagues, child care staff, and the public.
27. Performs other duties as needed to further the agency's mission and goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None required.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or related field from an accredited 4-year university
NC Early Care and Education Professional Certification, level 11 or higher and apply for and receive the TAP and PDE endorsement within one year of hire.
Three to five years of experience as a teacher in an early childhood program.
Three to five years of experience as an administrator in an early childhood program
Two or more years of training and coaching/technical assistance experience.
Knowledge of child growth and development.
Knowledge of appropriate programs and services to meet the needs of children and youth.
Knowledge of inclusion and special needs best practices (desirable)
Skills and willingness to be flexible in performing other job-related tasks as needs arise.
Mastery of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Knowledge of North Carolina licensing standards, Environment Rating Scales, CLASS, CSEFEL and Creative Curriculum.
Certified CLASS observer across Infant, Toddler and Pre-k tools
Certified Making the Most of Classroom Interactions (MMCI) coach and trainer
LANGUAGE SKILLS Effective oral and written communication skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license, automobile liability coverage, and access to an automobile on a daily basis.
