About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a Lactation Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert lactation support to new mothers and their babies, ensuring a smooth and successful breastfeeding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide lactation support to new mothers and their babies, including assessment, care planning, education, and discharge planning.
- Counsel lactating mothers on an inpatient and outpatient basis, providing guidance on breastfeeding techniques and strategies.
- Develop and implement lactation education programs for healthcare professionals, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality lactation care.
- Collaborate with the leadership at Children's Health to optimize lactation practices across all units, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
- Participate in scholarly activities to enhance your level of competence, including writing for publication, presenting at conferences, and participating in research activities.
Requirements:
Education: Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience: At least 2 years experience in care of lactating mothers
Licenses and Certifications: Must be able to sit for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exam, as evidenced in writing from a certified body, and must pass the exam within 12 months of hire
