What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Group Facilitator position at Children's Home Network?
JOB SUMMARY: Support Group Facilitator may be a professional or caregiver with lived experience. The Support Group Facilitator will aid in establishing and developing support groups for caregivers. Participates in organization’s performance and quality improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Searches for support group locations
- Coordinates volunteer participation for support groups
- Provides groups that offers parenting education and community resources and promotes development of informal and formal support networks
- Assists in creating and distributing flyers for support groups
- Purchases group supplies (i.e. food, crafts, etc.)
- Assists caregivers in linking support groups
- Helps families locate transportation and respite in order to attend support groups
- Aids in the development of group activities including scheduling guest speakers
- Reports progress and communicates regularly with Clinical and Respite Provider Teams
- Provides assistance to Family Support Coordinators for support groups as needed
- Puts welcome packets, newsletters and contact lists together,
- Collects groups statistics and sign in sheets for Program Manager
- Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent from an accredited institution. Individual has at least 1 year experience working with children and families. Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking preferred.

Annual Training Requirements:
The following training topics are required annually: Sexual Harassment, Blood borne Pathogens, Workplace Accident Prevention and Reporting, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices, Diversity/Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Statutes and Methods, Prevention of Violence in the Workplace, OSHA–related training, Crisis Prevention, DCF Services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Modules 1-3, DCF Security Awareness and other Programmatic Trainings.

- Knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency standards, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member in a positive productive manner.

- Visual: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and make observations of physical facilities.
- Hearing: ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings.
