Job Summary
The Homework, Organization, and Planning Skills (HOPS) clinical research team is seeking a School Intervention Coach I.
With supervision, this role will provide school-based training and coaching to middle school students related to an evidenced-based executive functioning skills program and will actively participate in related research activities.
The goal of this position is to deliver an evidence-based executive functioning skills program (HOPS) in schools and assist in the school-based implementation.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as a Coach in Partnering Schools
- Help to recruit students to the study along with senior research team members
- Participate in school partnership activities, including attendance at school events/activities (such as teacher information meetings), and ongoing information sharing and problem-solving related to the study
- Determine and balance school/staff needs and research protocols
- Observe program progress by school staff to assist the research team in data collection efforts
Training and Ongoing Coaching to Students
- Deliver evidenced-based program.
- Videotape session administration
- Assist research team in monitoring implementation considerations.
- Participate in as-needed supervision from study collaborators
Participation in Other Research Activities
- Participate in the recruitment and enrollment of study participants (e.g., students, teachers, counselors, parents)
- Assist in collecting intervention implementation data
- Attend research team meetings and activities
- Other research activities as assigned and appropriate
Required Education and Experience
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience: One (1) year of experience working in a school as a teacher, counselor or similar role or school-based coaching/consultation role
Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, school psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
Preferred Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience working in a school as a teacher, counselor or similar role or school-based coaching/consultation role
- Previous experience in an urban, under-resourced setting.

To carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to keep our patients, families and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community.
