What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIETETIC ASSISTANT position at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland?
Job Summary :
The Dietetic Assistant processes diet orders using the electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic meal order system (MyDining) in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to all phone calls that come into the diet office. Participates in quality assurance duties, data collection and running patient reports. Calculates, prepares and delivers formula as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Minimum Education :
High School diploma or equivalent required. 3 years academic training in nutrition from an accredited institution. Bachelor of Arts or Science in Dietetics or Nutrition preferred.
Minimum Experience :
Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition as it relates to children. Knowledge of food science, recipes. Ability to interact with children of all ages.
Technical Knowledge :
Basic computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Electronic Medical Records
Physical Requirements :
Sit : Up to 8 hours / day Stand / Walk : 3-6 hours Bend / Stoop : Up to 3 hours Reach : Up to 3 hours Rep Use of UE / Grasp : Up to 8 hrs Lift / Push / Pull : 15 lbs This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and / or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20-ft. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function of this position.
