Position Summary

The Neonatal hospitalists will work closely with other team members in a collaborative team model of patient care, attending deliveries, performing common neonatal procedures and involved in active patient management with neonatologists immediately present and under their supervision. The neonatal hospitalist will attend deliveries, do procedures and manage patients in the neonatal units within the Children's Minnesota system.

  • MD. DO, MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Completed general pediatrics residency in an ACGME accredited pediatric residency program

License/Certification/Registration required? Yes

  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Pediatrics
  • Current State of Minnesota Medical License and DEA Certificate
  • Current NRP and BLS certifications
  • Hospital credentials and member of the professional staff at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of MN and sites.

Education:

Experience:

  • Residency experience in delivery room, newborn and/or NICU
  • Knowledge and experience with quality improvement work, safety initiatives, systems-based practice, patient-centered care

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding and management of the medical and surgical issues of the neonatal population of patients cared for in the NICU with the direct supervision by the neonatologist.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team and patient families.
  • Develop and perform procedural skills for the management of the patient in the delivery room and NICU, including neonatal resuscitations.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
