What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Human Resources position at Chileda Institute Inc.?

The Director of HR will be a trusted partner on all people-related matters, providing strategic guidance, leadership, advice, counsel, and solutions to support the mission, goals, values, and culture of the organization. In your role, you will work collaboratively across the organization to plan, direct, and coordinate all human resources initiatives. This position is responsible for providing overall Human Resources leadership to ensure goals are achieved by developing and implementing human resources policies, procedures, and initiatives including talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management and training and development.

Position reports to CEO.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or job-related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience managing and/or leading HR team and functions.
  • Experience successfully engaging others in comprehensive strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as experience in providing advice and counsel on complex program matters.
  • Demonstrated ability in consensus building while leading diverse groups.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills to interface and establish credibility with employees and managers at all levels and handle sensitive and complex issues.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and a track record of success in bringing highly complex, cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Strategic thinking leader that demonstrates innovation and flexibility when leading organizational change.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the day-to-day HR operations of Chileda while nurturing the future growth of the organization as it relates to HR initiatives.
  • Nurture, support and develop the HR team, which includes HR Manager, Staff Development, Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialists. Translate the goals of Chileda into clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations within the HR team. Provide direction and vision and allow the team to execute. Provide regular performance feedback to promote growth and professional development amongst team.
  • Collaborate with team to develop and implement an overall talent acquisition and workforce retention strategy for the organization.
  • Oversee the administration of compensation, payroll, recognition, and benefit programs.
  • Ensure the integrity of HRIS systems, employee database information and all relevant employee records. Performs HR administrative duties, monitors HR metrics, analyzes data, and provides pertinent reports.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employment relations. Provide ongoing coaching associated with employee development. Serve as a mediator, coach and facilitator fostering positive and effective employee relations. Maintain and model effective communication with all employees. Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish and/or maintain positive employer-employee relationship and promote high-level of employee morale. Assist managers with the above. Work to balance advocacy of Chileda, those we serve, management and employees.
  • Collaborate with Training and Development team to develop curriculum and training opportunities to meet the needs of team members and Chileda.
  • Facilitate the performance feedback cadence and protocols within the agency.
  • Work in partnership with Leadership Team to ensure position scope, responsibilities and expectations are clearly communicated in job descriptions and annual goals.
  • Collaborate with CEO, COO and Director of Finance to ensure total compensation plans are competitive as well as fair and equitable within the agency.
  • Periodically conduct stay interviews to keep a pulse on what is working well and areas for improvement within the organization.
  • Remain current on HR trends and legislation. Provide direction and educate leaders and managers regarding the interpretation and changes in employment and labor laws.

Chileda offers a spectrum of services to meet the individual needs of children and adults with cognitive and behavioral challenges. Services are provided on campus in the residential and day school program, and in the community within individual's homes, schools, and community. Our highly trained staff continually seek out new strategies to work in conjunction with well-established practices. Chileda's commitment to these practices strengthens our position as leaders in serving students with autism spectrum disorders, attachment challenges, and other developmental disabilities.

Chileda's Residential Services provides treatment to children and young adults from across the country. With individualized treatment, educational, and behavioral planning, students increase socially significant behaviors/skills while decreasing challenging behaviors. Chileda offers Transitional Support Services to support students as they transition to less restrictive environments.

Chileda provides support to children and adults through community outreach programs including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services and Mental Health Counseling. Behavior Solutions includes in-home and school behavioral consultations and training, daily living skills, peer support groups, SIB shops, and parent/caregiver education. Mental Health Counseling is available to individuals and their families with cognitive and behavioral challenges.

Salary : $71,200 - $90,200
