What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patroller position at China Peak Mountain Resort?
SUMMARY: Patrols trails and slope areas to provide assistance and protection to guests and report condition of trails, ski lifts, and snow cover on slopes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provides First Aid and transportation to the base area for injured guests.
2. Identifies reduces and/or eliminates hazards on runs with regard to certain temporary signing,
markings and flagging.
3. Installs, removes, maintains and/or distributes fences, padding, signs, bamboo, flagging, toboggans,
snow making covers, snowmobiles and other equipment.
4. Provides search and rescue and evacuation services on-site as needed and/or at the direction of the
appropriate legal authority.
5. Enforces safe "on-mountain" behavior as it applies to our "On Mountain Education and Awareness Program".
6. Thorough understanding of incident investigation guidelines and reporting procedures.
7. Immediate review of incident investigations, daily documentation and reporting procedures.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Due to the many variables that affect winter resort operations, such as weather and number of guests, occasionally employees may be asked to perform other duties or assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility as needed, including performing in any subordinate position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 18 years of age.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
TRAINING, CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
Current CPR and American Red Cross First Aid Certification
China Peak Mountain Resort On-Duty Skier or Snowboarder Certified at a minimum level 3 skills.
China Peak Mountain Resort Patrol Level 1 Training.

The physical and environmental demand level as described in Level 3 (HIGH) are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
