Full-time opening for an experienced Machinist to set-up and operate CNC tooling centers. Must be able to produce high-quality precision parts according to tight tolerances and exact design specifications and provide for quality control of parts produced. Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up CNC machines by positioning the work piece and the tools. Setting the controls to meet the specified tolerances and modifying programming of machine to troubleshoot problems during test runs.
- Operating machinery by monitoring the feed rate and speed of the machine, ensuring pieces are properly machined.
- Consulting with supervisor and openly communicating with team members to develop functional and quality components.
- Quality control of output by reading and interpreting blueprints and measuring the surface finish of the piece to ensure it meets design specifications.
- Safely operating machinery according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary.
Qualifications
- 5 years of work-related experience operating machining and turning centers or machinist trade school preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or higher a plus. Basic reading, writing and computer skills necessary in addition to advanced arithmetic.
- 3D modeling skills a plus.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring devices.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and engineers on tasks and projects.
