What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations position at Choate Rosemary Hall?
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations will work independently with all areas of the Advancement Office to support fundraising and engagement efforts through the execution of successful constituent engagement. This position will work within a collaborative office environment and share responsibility for planning and coordinating initiatives, programs and events intended to engage alumni and parents in the life of the School and cultivate and inspire giving. Key responsibilities include:
- Work in collaboration with other members of the Advancement Office within the Alumni Relations team to develop and execute an annual schedule of programs and on and off campus events that meet strategic broad-based engagement goals and objectives, as determined by Department, School, and AAEC leadership.
- Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni and parents locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally with an interest in supporting the School through event-based engagement.
- Plan and execute on- and off-campus events of interest to alumni and parents across decades and geographic regions.
- Oversee event logistics (including invitations, guest lists, and event page builds), catering, entertainment, and facility requirements.
- Work with Advancement Communications to prepare invitations, briefings and other materials required to support the event or program and School leadership involvement.
- Manage relationships with venues/vendors/caterers and other service providers.
- Work with gift officers and alumni and parent volunteers to staff alumni and parent programs; personally represent the School and its broad goals and mission at various events and programs.
- Assist the Director of Alumni Relations manage the overall execution of Reunion Weekend each year; oversee all planning and logistics involving facilities and catering, class volunteers and committees and support the Director of Alumni Relations with programming.
- Support regional alumni club and affinity group activities as determined by Department leadership.
- Oversee the development, production, and procurement of creative gift items that can be shared with hosts and attendees at events and programs and be given as donor gifts.
- Support donor relations and stewardship operations with events to appropriately acknowledge key donors to the School.
- Assist with other Advancement office initiatives as assigned by the Alumni Relations Director and the Chief Advancement Officer.
Salary : $55,400 - $70,100
