Job Summary:
Patient Relations Specialist is to assist in resolving patient health care issues in a timely manner and document information from various sources into the database. The specialist will act as a liaison for the patient while working with outside agencies negotiating medical bills.
Primary Tasks:
Enters patient information into the database
Contact patient or vendor via phone, email, personal visits or other means of communication.in a timely manner.
Updates and maintains database with current information regarding patient issues.
Collaborates with patient or families identifying resources for patients that have minimal or no payer source.
Interacts with staff and patients in a professional and courteous manner that promotes a positive environment.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
High School Diploma
Good communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Office
Must possess knowledge of or be willing to learn HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission and CNHSA policy and procedures
Must possess a valid driver’s license
TARGET
Associate’s Degree or two years’ experience in related field of patient services
Two years’ experience in related field of patient services
Excellent communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Office
Must possess knowledge of or be willing to learn HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission and CNHSA policy and procedures
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
