What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Physical Plant position at Christ's Home?
The Director of Physical Plant is a skilled position in various trades and daily will perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of Christ's Home property and equipment. This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating campus-wide plant operations and building maintenance for the healthcare center, including the Transportation Department. The DPP will ensure that all buildings meet DHS, DPW, DOH, local, state, and applicable federal regulations, codes and guidelines.
Desired Attributes: Multi-Trade Knowledge: Broad understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, carpentry, and general facility maintenance. Comprehensive knowledge of Healthcare policies, operational systems, and entities regulating those systems. Good verbal and written communication skills; effective problem resolution skills; ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and resourcefulness.
Required Attributes: High School Diploma or GED required. Current & valid PA driver's license (No points on driving abstract). Minimum of five (5) years maintenance supervisory experience required. Experience in a hospital, long term care, or personal care desirable. Comparable building management experience will be considered. Familiarity with DHS, DOH and DPW regulations highly desired. Must be able to perform the duties of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: lifting, pushing, pulling, & tugging, without assistance up to 50 lbs; bending, stretching, stooping & twisting on a consistent basis and standing for up to 7 hours of 8 an hour shift.
