Small Gifts Officer (Intern)
(Status: Part-Time, Nonexempt)
Reports to: Executive Director
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain fundraising and marketing strategies as it relates to the plan.
- Effectively manage all administrative aspects of small gifts fundraising and marketing.
- Assist in development and maintenance of positive relationships with funders and donors.
- Implement strategies to develop and grow individual donor base.
- Identify new funding opportunities and initiate communications with potential small gift donors.
- Develop fundraising marketing plans for the small donor programs.
- Create and maintain development and marketing calendar with important dates and activities
- Provide support for staff, volunteers and board members involved in small gift donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Monitor, review and report on all small gift fundraising/marketing activities and results
- Assist with developing and implementing capital campaigns with the support of key staff and board.
- Assist with developing written materials, organizational history, fact sheet, newsletters, feature articles, event listings, proposals and persuasive pitch letters.
- Assist in administrative management as needed.
Qualifications:
The applicant for the Small Gift Officer must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher and two (2) – five (5) years of experience in fundraising development and marketing. Preference is given to an applicant seeking a Master’s Degree in philanthropy.
The successful applicant must also be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint). High energy level, self motivation, positive attitude, flexible, team player, attention to detail and high level of initiative are all traits that an applicant must possess in an effort to be considered to fill this position.
In addition, they must possess strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to take initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision; ability to multitask; strong written and verbal communication skills and a high level of organization and people skills.
Salary : $20 - $22
