Overview
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot and provide on-site service, repair, adjust, install for previously installed window, door and trim products at customers’ homes / builders job sites, timely manner, observing all safety regulations, ensuring all quality standards are met and safe, courteous and professional behavior is observed in all situations.
· At the start of the shift check service schedule, pull orders needed for service work assuring accuracy of order, checking against service ticket, load onto the truck, secure materials, read work orders to determine nature of repair and contact customers as needed.
· Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and insure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
· Perform routine and daily safety checks on equipment and trucks as required. Report any issues to Supervisor / Safety Manager.
· Drive service truck to customers’ homes or builders job sites to service previously installed window, door and trim products.
· Confer with customers or users to assess problem or refer to work orders to establish the nature of issues.
· Inspect, troubleshoot issues on job sites, i.e., air and water leakage around doors and windows, and other issues as required.
· Determine corrective action to be taken and verify the action has fixed the issue, in an efficient, cost effective manner. Repair, replace and install necessary trim, window and door parts as required and inspect the quality of installation of products.
· Install windows, storm doors, and entry doors, replace glass and field mull windows when needed.
· Complete and submit required paperwork that is accurate, thorough, legible and take required before /after photos of the service work.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the product usage, and new products, acquire information and measurements to order necessary parts as required.
· Ensure that company tools and vehicle are kept in good working order, service area / truck is neat and organized; inventory service stock area of warehouse is re-stocked and / or request material replenishment as needed.
· Provide detailed information to Customer Service Representatives as required.
· Complete other related duties as directed by Supervisor, perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.
