Job Description:
This position provides general maintenance, including but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, painting, doors, hardware, minor carpentry, pressure washing, roof maintenance, and other items relates to the ongoing needs of maintaining the buildings and dormitories of Christian Brothers University. The position does require after-hour on-call availability on a rotation basis and/ or as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
- Works with the Director in expediting weekly maintenance and building care issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Performs general maintenance of the buildings and equipment. Accomplishes this through minor repair work, painting, carpentry, MPE maintenance, and repair.
- Assists in maintaining an inventory of all supplies and equipment. In addition, purchases needed supplies and materials with the approval of the Director.
- Provides general assistance as needed including hauling and moving items.
- Assure the buildings and grounds are maintained in acceptable condition. Also includes the removal of snow on walkways and stairs.
- Attend job-related meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in facilitating any needed professional service calls. These arrangements are made only with prior approval by the Director.
- Must have a current driver's license, no convictions for infractions involving drugs or alcohol, and no more than three moving violations in the last three years. Must have the ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.
- On-call availability for after-hour Work Requests/Emergencies.
Requirements:
- Successful work performance in a prior general maintenance position.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform work-related computer data entry, online training, and some knowledge of basic Outlook, and computer skills.
- A strong background in Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical maintenance and repair is preferred.
