Position Overview
The Children’s/Assistant Pastor partners with the Lead Pastor to shepherd and equip our church family, with a focus on clear, Gospel-centered teaching and a vibrant, safe children’s ministry (birth through 6th grade). This full-time role combines preaching, pastoral care, administrative leadership, and the development of creative, Christ-centered programming for children and families.
Status: Full-Time
Location: Mineola, TX
Compensation: Pay based upon experience and/or education

Key Responsibilities
- Preaching & Teaching
Use accurate, contextual exegesis—expository teaching is not exclusive but all instruction must align with Scripture
- Pastoral Care & Leadership
Support administrative duties and select church projects (mission trips / conferences)
Remain “on call” for ministry needs, demonstrating approachability and punctuality
- Children’s Ministry Leadership
Cultivate a safe, loving environment where children grow in their relationship with Christ
Provide pastoral care for children and their families
- Program & Event Development
Select and implement curriculum that fosters spiritual formation
Organize Monthly Family-focused Activities
Family movie nights
Game and craft nights
Mini service projects (care packages for neighbors)
Plan Creative, Annual Outreach Events, Ie
Fall Festival
Summer Kids Camp
Back-to-School Bash
Annual Children’s Christmas Program (casting, music, costumes, sets, promotion)
- Safety & Check-In System
Track attendance, allergies, and emergency contacts
Enforce volunteer background checks and pickup protocols
Conduct annual safety training and policy reviews
- Volunteer Management
Schedule and rotate classroom leaders quarterly
Maintain a substitute roster and provide quarterly orientation and appreciation events
- Family Engagement
Develop discipleship resources & activities for families
- Administrative Oversight
Keep accurate attendance records, incident reports, and follow-up systems
- Staff Collaboration
Coordinate with worship, media, administration and pastoral teams

Qualifications And Skills Requirement
Education - Bachelor’s degree
Experience - 5 years in children’s ministry

Technology - Familiarity with media & planning tools, digital check-in systems
